What It's Like To Watch 'American Horror Story' For The First Time: Season 1

It is the show I see everyone talking about on Twitter and Facebook. "American Horror Story" has become a national sensation. Since it's now in its fifth season with celebrities such as Lady Gaga making an appearance, I decided it was probably time to jump on the bandwagon and start watching from the very beginning. So my roommates and I hunkered down and started watching. Here are some of my thoughts as I watched the first season:

1. Oh, this is going to be good.

2. And scary -- very scary -- I can tell.

3. Even the opening credits are scary.

4.Wait, what’s going on?

5. Why am I this confused? It's only the first episode.

6. Hey! That’s the best friend from "Phil of The Future."

7. What was his name? Oh, Evan Peters.

8. OK, so this is still confusing.

9. I can see why everyone likes this show.

10. I read somewhere all of these seasons are connected. I can't wait to find out how.

11. Wait, so is the maid young or old?

12. I can’t tell who is dead or alive at this point.

13. Ugh, why is Constance so creepy?

14. Like, can you please stop breaking into people’s houses?

15. And why does she have so many kids in the house?

16. Also, why is the dad such a jerk?

17. Ugh, this show is getting good.

18. Glad I can finally understand what’s going on.

19. Well, I think so at least.

20. So is everyone just going to die?

21. I need to watch more -- forget classes.

22. This show isn’t that scary.

23. Just kidding, I can’t watch this at night. It's too messed up!

24. OMG, this show is amazing!

25. Jessica Lange is flawless.

26. There are just a little too many sexual innuendos for me ...

27. This is a cable TV show?

28. It should be a Netflix original.

29. How long have I been watching this?

30. I should probably do some work.

31. Just kidding -- this is too good

32. Is this the finale?

33. This is too confusing again.

34. This is so frustrating! I’m not going to watch this anymore.

35. Ugh, it's over.

36. Time for the next season, I guess.

After watching the first season, I can see why it has become such a major hit. Also, this is such a good binge-watch for anyone and everyone who wants a little scare, especially around Halloween.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
