I’m headed to the Vans Warped Tour in Shakopee, Minnesota on July 24. A friend of mine had an extra ticket, and who am I to pass up a new life experience? To tell you the truth, though, I only know a couple of the many bands that will be at Warped Tour.
Being a “Warped Newbie,” I had to research what this event even is. Then, I had to figure out what I was supposed to bring and wear the day of. I watched many YouTube videos and read quite a few articles. After my extensive research, this is the final list of things I will be bringing to Warped Tour.
Cash- Mostly for food and drinks, as I’m not really one to load up on the band merch.
Sunscreen- It is supposed to be in the high 80s and sunny the day I’ll be at Warped. I’m pale. Very pale. Enough said.
A Peanut Butter Sandwich- Snacks! I’m going to be very sweaty and hot and I’m sure we’ll be running all over the place the entire day.
Small Drawstring Backpack- For free things and anything I don’t want to hold, a drawstring backpack will be necessary.
Ziploc Bags- If I don’t bring these, I just know my phone and other miscellaneous items will get soaked.
Large Water Bottle- A sealed, large bottle of water will be the only thing that keeps me alive. I just know it.
Chapstick- What if my lips get sunburnt?
Phone/Charger/Power Pack- I’m not bringing a camera, so I need to stay charged.
Ibuprofen- I’m going to get a headache. Or a few.
One Sharpie Marker- You never know when you will need to write stuff on your arms.
Sunglasses- The sun is bright. This is pretty self-explanatory.
While attempting not to overpack, I feel I have everything I need to survive the day. I will also be throwing an extra pair of clothes and shoes in my car so I don’t have to drive the hour home drenched in sweat and who knows what else. If Warped Tour is coming to a location near you in the few weeks remaining in the summer, I suggest looking into going even if you aren’t extremely into the bands. I’m sure it will be fun and I can’t wait to share my experience with you. Stay tuned!
