10 Clutch Things Every 'Warm Weather Girl' Needs To Tolerate And Survive Winter

As someone who is pro-summer all the way, fall is a bittersweet time for me. Sure, the leaves are turning and it is nice to start celebrating the holidays, but it also means that the weather is getting colder and the long days and late sunsets are disappearing. You have to open up the old coat closet and dust off your parka and switch your thermostat from AC to heat. For some of us it's exciting, but for warm-weather people, it's depressing.

Summer seemed to only last a minute, and now the trees are bare and it is pitch black at 6 p.m. I hate it. So. Much.

But, for all of those who are mourning summer like me, don't worry! It is possible to find some things to love about winter, so here are a few things that will get you through the coming season.

1. Christmas cups at Starbucks

Even though there's less color on the trees in winter, there is a lot of color on Starbucks cups around Christmas time!

2. Delicious candles

Now that the weather is colder, it is time to light some candles! Not only do they smell great, but they just add a chill vibe to the whole house.

3. Baking!!!

Using the oven during summer can be an uncomfortable experience. With the heat from the oven, the house can turn into a furnace pretty quickly. But in winter, using the oven is a great way to heat up the house and bake some pretty delicious treats. Not to mention your home will be smelling like a bakery pretty quick, which doesn't hurt!

4. Hoodies, leggings and Uggs

If college girls had a uniform, this would be it. Cold weather gives us an excuse to hop into our comfiest clothes, which helps us settle into winter in style.

5. Winter break

Winter is definitely more tolerable when you don't have to walk to class in sub-zero weather.

6. Comfort food

Winter is an awesome time to enjoy all of your favorite comfort foods: soups, stews, casseroles, the list goes on and on.

7. Burning a fire

During spring and summer, our fireplace just sits in our family rooms patiently waiting for winter to roll around once again. And there is truly nothing better in the winter than warming up by the fire as we sit curled up on the couch.

8. Sledding

I think it's undeniable that snow is fun to play in. So even though we're freezing our tails off, at least we get to sled and make snow angels,

9. Christmas crooners

Holiday music is so awesome and just makes winter so much more special. So, you can spend the blustery month of December sitting back and listening to the dulcet tones of Nat King Cole.

10. The New Year

Even though the New Year happens when the weather is at its most bitter, this can be a great time to turn over a new leaf and set goals to improve your health and happiness. And it's an awesome time to party with your friends and family!

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.

Mistakes are something we all make, no matter how old we get. Most of the time, the mistakes we made are little and sometimes due to something out of our control. Yet, there are mistakes that are bigger than others. Personally, I have mistakes that I wish I could go back and undo. Here they are:

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
