Hello there I am the bony critic and today I will be reviewing " Warm Bodies".

Warm bodies was a zombie film released in 2013 where a virus has turned most of the world’s population into human flesh eating zombies and only a handful of people who have not yet been infected are trying to survive against these monsters. This film however takes the perspective of a young male zombie named R who falls in love with a beautiful human teen girl named Julie. As these two continue on their journey to get Julie back to her home she discovers that R is not like the other zombies and that in fact he is becoming a human again.

The main character R is obviously a zombie, a flesh eating monster, but throughout the film he is able to think at normal human capacity which is very unlikely because of what he is. While watching the film there are plenty of the undead just walking around all dull and not having the ability to think, but yet R is able to remember the other zombie’s occupations and is able to communicate with one of his best friends Marcus who’s also a zombie. That would also mean that other zombies are capable of showing some form of intelligence and communication.

In the film R has his own hide out inside of a vacant airplane, and inside the airplane it seems as though R has collected quite a few objects like a record player, vinyls, guitars, and a stereoscope. Why would R want all of these objects if he’s a zombie objects would mean nothing . Of course he can enjoy them and cherish them, but come on man do you really need a bottle of soda? Another weird thing that R does is eat brains, when he eats brains he is able to see the memories of the person who used to be alive. Now that makes no sense because the brain is dead there would be no possible way of watching these memories and most of the memories are in third person instead of through the eyes of the person who died.

Our female main character Julie had some issues right off the bat and it showed that she a had a poor relationship with her father. This was no surprise because most of the time with these types of movies the female main character always has a poor relationship with her father. The zombie apocalypse has been going on for 8 years and even though R took her and hid her away from the others to try and protect her she still continued to trust him. Even though the human scent is irresistible and he could have attacked her at any moment. Yes it was obvious that R was different from the other zombies, but he could have attacked her still. The reason he didn’t attack her because he “loved” her, so Julie lucked out because of her beauty.

This whole love thing in the film is just completely horrible. Yes I agree that it is cute and that love defeats all evil, but this movie took love and made it a cure for zombies to become human again. The zombies deteriorating, their organs are probably mush, and what about the zombies that have been shot or stabbed multiple times are those wounds just able to heal with the power of love? There was a different type of zombie in the movie the bony zombies who can run at high speeds without any muscle mass. These types of zombies were unfortunately unable to be cured by the power of love and were the only thing I didn’t find wrong with the movie.

In the end the zombies were cured and people found love. They built relationships and had a complete happy ending. I give this film three skulls out of ten.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
