Starting college is overwhelming and a huge change that can be hard to adjust to. I remember before I started my freshman year, I didn't know what to expect, and that is completely normal. Some of the essentials for your college wardrobe are simple fashion classics, but there are necessities outside of those classic that will help you get through your college years.

Think ahead and start preparing. Minus those in southern Universities, this list will make up the fundamentals of closet.

College girls: Here are 32 essentials that WILL fill your college wardrobe.

1. A classic backpack

There are certain things you must bring to class everyday and you need a supportive, superior backpack to last you these next 4 years.

2. Rain boots

Yes, you still have to go to class even if it's down pouring.

3. Snow boots

Ugg Snow Boots

This isn't high school anymore, we don't get snow days, let alone delays to clear off roads/sidewalks. The designer boots will be expensive, yet valuable in the long run.

4. A towel wrap

Try holding up your towels while trying to get all your stuff together and walking back to your room.

5. A parka

Probably one of the biggest necessities during the winter. This WILL help you survive.

6. Texting gloves

On those below zero days you'd normally have a delay, you will be walking to class and your hands will become numb. Buy yourself some gloves with the texting ability because you know you can't walk 500 ft without checking your phone. It's the best of both worlds.

7. A sports jersey

Jersdays. Don't be the only one at that themed party (this theme is consistent) who doesn't wear a jersey. Whether you like sports or not, every college girl needs a sports jersey.

8. Multiple pairs of black leggings

I, along with majority of college girls, wear black leggings 90% of the week. Get yourself multiple pairs and you'll be good to go.

9. A pair of high-quality tennis shoes

A huge part of college is walking across campus (maybe multiple times a day) and your feet will get tired. You will fit in more by wearing tennis shoes than trying to go through beauty is pain.

10. A flannel

You won't understand the popularity of these until you hit a college campus (especially on the weekends).

11. Scarves

The best way to stay warm and look fashionable.

12. Fleece leggings

They may be more on the expensive side, but fleece leggings are single-handedly one of the best purchases for my college wardrobe

13. Neutral color bralette

The only undergarment society accepts to see under outfits.

14. Oversized sweaters (and a lot of them)

Comfortable AND cozy (as well as stylish).

15. Trendy clothing

i.e. crop tops, off-the-shoulder tops, bodysuits, lace-up, chokers, etc. Join the bandwagon.

16. Going out clothes

Clothes you wear to class are completely different than clothes you wear going to parties, unfortunately. However, keep true to who you are, your comfort zone, and stay classy.

17. A professional outfit

There will be times you need to dress up for class or interviews, certain events, etc.

18. Themed / holiday clothing

Most college parties are themed and college students take holidays very serious, especially on weekends. Make sure to keep all your themed apparel/accessories or costumes in a bin or drawer because they will be repeated and come in handy.

18. Fashionable boots

Whether they are ankle, short, riding boots, over-the-knee, doesn't matter.

19. A little black dress

A must-have for any wardrobe.

20. Your university's spirit wear

Always a go-to and basic on campuses.

21. A fancy outfit (heels, nice dress)

For those last-minute events like formals, etc.

22. Baseball caps

For those bad hair days.

23. Work-out clothes

Yes, college students still do workout.

24. A denim jacket

Another overall classic.

25. Vests

Very popular during the fall/spring seasons.

26. Your go-to favorite pair of jeans

Denim is everything and a classic go-to.

27. Statement necklace

The best way to dress or spice up an outfit.

28. A warm, cozy sweatshirt

Necessary to survive the cold weather.

29. A simple cardigan

Easy addition to any outfit.

30. A leather jacket

A necessary item to make your outfit the perfect kind of edgy.

31. A Camelbak water bottle

Gotta stay hydrated in the best, trendy way.

32. A high quality rain jacket

To make those dreadful rainy walks to class fashionable.

Get ready for the best time of your life full of fashion and fun.

XOXO,

10 Truths About Being In A Sorority

(For Girls Who Are Interested In Greek Life)

Sorority

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
