I want to write
A book that all will read
I want to make them laugh
I wish to help them breathe
To give them a moment of living
If only for a moment of life
And relieve them from their living
To give them respite from their strife
To pardon them their sorrows
And yet give them space to grieve
To open up their tomorrows
And offer them every reprieve
I wish to open up eye-windows
And throw open their minds’ doors
And lead them down every path
Maybe say, “Here, this one’s yours..”
I want to give them wings
So that someday they can fly
And yet give them solid grounding
So they know how hard to try
And give them a stronger backbone
And when they want to flee
I want to teach them something
Like a writer once taught me.
