So many people want to be just like her, simply because everywhere she goes she shines Jesus.

Why I Want To Be Just Like My Cousin

Have you ever met one of those people who just makes the world a better place; someone who shines love, grace, and goodness in all that they do? I am blessed to say that my cousin is one of those people. As I watched her walk to down the aisle this past Saturday I was amazed at how loved she is by so many people.

Courtney is a person who so many people strive to be like, as do I. She radiates Christ’s love everywhere she goes and she has had an impact on everyone she has met. Listening to her friends speak about her made me want to live a life like hers. She constantly encourages her friends and speaks truth into their lives. She is the epitome of setting a goal and following through with an incredible amount of grace. She makes you want to be a better person and more importantly she makes you want to grow closer to God. One of her bridesmaids this week mentioned how she strives to be more like Courtney every day, but the awesome thing is, in that she is also striving to be more like Christ because Courtney lives out such a beautiful Christ-like life.

I have always looked up to Courtney and have seen her as a role model. Now, her relationship with her now husband is another model that I strive to follow. Dustin is an amazing man of God, which for one gives me hope that there are still men with a heart like his out there. He also loves Courtney so much and faithfully pursued a relationship with her. This is such an example, especially in today's society where this type of commitment and devotion seems to be hard to find. Dustin watches to see how to care for Courtney and is just so overwhelmed at the fact that Courtney is his bride. He is such an example of how a man should love and care for his bride, that I hope to find a man that will love me in the same way I see Dustin love my amazing cousin.

This beautiful relationship is not all Dustin though, Courtney gracefully stands beside Dustin being a great teammate and showing so much love to him. She is a prime example of how to be an independent women while still being lead by the guidance of her man. It was said over and over this week how each person in this relationship is such an incredible person and doing so much for the Kingdom of God separately, but when you put them together the amount of work they do for the Kingdom is absolutely remarkable. That is the kind of relationship we should all be looking for. Although Courtney was not out searching for a boyfriend, she was simply going to church, being faithful to Christ, and leading others in the Bible and along the way God brought the perfect man for her into her life.

Courtney is such a blessing in my life and in so many others. So many people want to be just like her, simply because everywhere she goes she shines Jesus, and that is why I want to be just like my cousin.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
