I have not really seen snow. Yes, plain straight forward, that is my main reason. Well, I might be lying. I have seen snow once, but I was about 5 years old; I do not remember anything about it. I do not remember the white streets and the cloudy days, or the canceled school days. I do not remember making a snowman, or a snow angel, or having a snowball fight. These are all myths to me that I can only see happening in movies. For once in a while, San Antonio’s forecast is showing an incredible cold weather, plus a chance of rain. If there is something I want this Christmas, is for it to snow on campus.
Never seen a white-covered San Antonio
Could you image how pretty that could look? Nature is already quite amazing and beautiful; even though San Antonio is labeled as a desert, there is green all around. These trees being dressed with white would force us to look at a blue morning differently. I do not know about you, but I have not seen a snow-covered San Antonio, and I bet it would look amazing. I know most of you have lived here your entire lives, and can share with us its beauty, but give us few that have not seen it a chance to observe nature stain San Antonio’s soil with white!
It is turning too much of a routine
Waking up. Driving to campus. Walking to class. Study. Eat Lunch. Go back home and (maybe) enjoy some free time. It all becomes too much of a routine. We are pretty much commuters trying to graduate. I believe we could enjoy a nice, chilly walk towards classes with snowflakes falling onto our nose. Perhaps a little different of a day will cheer us up. On the other hand, it might motivate some of us to stay home and enjoy a hot chocolate at our porch (and maybe skip a class, or two).
Give us the Christmas feeling
We see it everywhere in movies; white all over the streets and people filled with joy at their homes, sharing their stories with their family and friends. It is about time we get some of that without it being sunny. Come on, just let it snow!
It is about time
It has not snowed in San Antonio in forever! Please, weather, allow us to feel the joy of Christmas and throw some actual winter at us. Waking up at 32 degrees and going home at 80 is not quite fun. I understand this is Texas, but if politics changes as much in one year, Texas weather can also be a little more flexible, right? Now cross your fingers, and wait for it to snow!
