I Want To Go To Disney With My Boyfriend & There's Nothing Wrong With That

Dear Brooke,

I recently read your article on Thrillist, questioning adult couples who vacation at Disney World. I regretfully inform you that Disney World is truly one of the most magical places on earth. Clearly, you disagree, with your article written in a way that bashes older couples (starting at age what, 21?) who want to go to Disney together. You must really be one lonely soul if you think that going to Disney with your S.O is pathetic and sad.

Truth be told, I’ve always “judged” the couples who go to Disney and wear matching shirts, like you said, #themickeytomyminnie or even my sister going with a Beauty and the Beast thing (kind of rude to the male, if you ask me). But anyway, what’s so wrong with wanting to relive your childhood with the man/woman you love? I’d love to take a picture in front of Cinderella’s castle with my boyfriend, or post even sillier pictures from Main Street, or even my scared sh**less expression while on Space Mountain!

You’re 100% right, and I’ll agree with you here, that the wonderful world of Disney is extremely overpriced and definitely a vacation you can do only so many times. But it’s also one of those places that will let you remember what it was like to see Mickey Mouse for the first time or get the autograph of your favorite Disney character, even having breakfast with some of the most famous Disney characters. Disney is a place that dreams literally come true. I mean, people get engaged there on a daily basis, people shell out so much money to get married there, too!

You bet your ass I want Donald Duck waving his arms in my face because I want a picture with him! I want to take a picture with my favorite Disney princess, and heck yeah, I want to wear my Mickey Mouse ears every damn day that I'm in Disney!

From a personal standpoint, my boyfriend and I have been trying to plan a trip to Disney since before we even started dating. We live for going on adventures, taking goofy pictures, and taking in everything our visiting site has to offer. We’ve done it all; amusement parks, college visits, even a goddamn trip to Ireland, and now, we want Disney! And there’s nothing wrong with that. Plus, there’s never been a time where Tom (my amazing boyfriend) made me feel anything less than a princess and every princess needs their trip to Disney, right?

I’m very sorry, Brooke, that no one wants to go to Disney with you. But from your article, I can see why. I don’t see a trip to Disney in your near future, but I surely hope that one day, someone makes you feel like a Disney Princess and you get your kiss in front of Cinderella’s Castle.

Sincerely,

Courtney, A girl who would live in Disney if she could

The Unwritten Rules Of "Talking"

What is "talking?" How does one "talk?"

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.

What's up Asshat,

I've composed a list of things that I wish upon you, and they're harsh and cruel. These things are things that I wouldn't wish upon my worst of enemies, not even that Starbuck's barista who always screws up my order, not even him. You fall into a whole other category of hate. You surpass Starbucks barista. Congratulations, I'm actually a pretty nice person, making you worthy of every single bit of torture I wish upon you. What are these things I wish upon you you might ask?
