Why Walt Disney's Work Will Forever Inspire Our Lives

Going to Disney World taught me something about Walt Disney’s art. It is tremendously influential and has been for many generations. Walt put a life into his characters that made them relatable and loveable to people all over the world. He said that, "It all started with a mouse." I think that may be true, as far as his career success went, but I think it all started with Walt himself.

Walt came from a small town family that we would have never guessed would be successful in the long run. Walt worked many jobs unrelated to animation before landing jobs in the field. He even had previous characters taken from him and lost a crew of animators. He went bankrupt and lost inspiration. This didn’t stop Walt from creating art that changed the world. The power of Walt Disney lies in his ability to think of a world that may not exist but can in his imagination. This world he creates is not tampered by the struggles of life. His dreams were larger than the lifetime he lived. He didn’t even get to see Disney World because he died before it was finished.

Although we would never think that animated mouse would bring so much endless success, it brought so much more. Walt Disney built character after character. He never ran out of ideas that sparked peoples interest. After characters like Donald, Goofy and Minnie, he worked on completely different animation. He created animated characters like Snow White and Cinderella. Even though these characters had already existed, they did not exist in this way. They came to life in a beautiful way for people. Their stories were our fantasies and they had all the glits and glam that we dream of.

I find it incredible that each frame was hand made to create Snow White. It took years to create, but the beauty of Walt’s animation is still what we prefer. Today people still know and love the Disney characters. When I went to Disney World I saw people from all countries come together due to the love of the beloved characters that Walt created. Just seeing the characters in the different parks made me realize how many Walt had actually created. He never stopped creating his whole life. All his characters had a distinct personality, look, movement and life. They gave people joy, tears, courage, bravery and so much more. People of all ages can relate to these characters. You don’t even have to see Walt Disney’s name to know that his artwork is his own. Most of the time, all you have to see are the Mickey Mouse ears.

I believe that Walt Disney’s life lives on in all that he has created. I love getting glimpses into his world. Everything is so magical and fantastic. It is completely understandable why people love Walt Disney. He holds a lot of power through his creative mind and artwork. The power of Walt Disney will live on for a very long time for all those who are his dedicated fans.

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
