When I was younger my family went to Walt Disney World and honesty, I don't remember much about that trip. So when my parents said they were taking my little sister this Thanksgiving, I knew I had to go!
Walt Disney World as an adult came down to three main things: Food, characters, and souvenirs.
I wanted every bit of food that smelled delicious or was the shape of Mickey's head. I knew exactly where to go and which restaurants to try because I did my research beforehand. From Epcot to Magic Kingdom to Disney Springs (Downtown Disney), I bought anything that lit up my senses. It might sound crazy, but the Turkey leg and Chocolate Pretzel (Epcot- Norway) were some of the best things I had.
And if you thought princesses were just for kids, you are greatly mistaken! I looked for any chance to jump in lines to meet characters. Just passing characters in the streets alone made me smile like a goofy kid. In Epcot, we stopped in every country (sometimes multiple times) to find certain characters. I waited in most of the lines with my character autograph book in hand, cheesing along with children.
Walt Disney World as an adult makes you realize how expensive all that crap is! Did that stop me? Nope. My dad judged everything I bought... I found gold Belle ears- she is my favorite! I didn't care if I ever wore them outside of the parks, I wanted them. I also bought a fan in Epcot's China where they personalized it with my name in Chinese. I found a hat a had been looking for all week and after I could not take it off. PS- my henna was a temporary souvenir, but it was still cool.
Now what?
Well, I learned not to waste time in Magic Kingdom again. Except for Splash Mountain and Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, I didn't need the crowds or the number of rides aimed at littles. I could spend days at Epcot in order to see every part of every country and relive Test Track continuously. Hollywood Studios had by far the rudest people and by the time we got to Animal Kingdom, we were over it. I don't know that I need to go back to Disney, but I am already thinking about another vacation!
