We're officially in the month of September. For those of us who attend school in Michigan, this means we are gearing up for classes to start shortly after Labor Day. This also means it is time to get out your best pair of walking shoes because I promise you will be doing a lot of walking commuters and on campus residents alike. I live on the north side of campus, so my walk isn't terribly long, but it is long enough to have many, many, thoughts. These thoughts are usually the same every day, but sometimes a few new ones slip in. Without further ado, I present to you some of the things I think about when I'm walking across campus.
1. It's too early for this.
2. Should I skip?
3. No, I skipped it on Monday.
4. I wore this yesterday, but my Tuesday/Thursday classes, don't know my Monday/Wednesday life.
5. I hope this car hits me so I get free tuition.
6. Never mind, it isn't a university vehicle.
7. But here comes a university bus.
8. I want to be back in bed.
9. Did that person on the bike even see me?
10. What about the longboard?
11. I hope this goose doesn't attack me.
12. Did I put on deodorant?
13. I'm hungry.
14. What should I eat after class?
15. My unassigned assigned seat better be empty.
16. It's kind of nice out today.
17. Uh oh, let me avoid eye contact with my professor.
18. Starbucks sounds good right now.
19. It's 10 a.m. though, the line might not be worth it.
20. Okay, it is.
21. I hope nobody saw me trip over nothing.
22. If I go to this class, that's one class closer to being done with classes for the week.
23. Why am I sweating?
24. What class am I going to?
25. Oh yeahhh, I only have this class once a week, and today is not that day.
26. Guess I have to go take a nap to cope with this tragedy.
There you have it! Just a few of the many things that go through my mind while I'm walking to class. Hopefully, this makes you feel a little less crazy when you're having your thoughts, because let's be honest, we all think these things and more.
