Imagine this: spending a whole day in the life of another person. Imagine living the day of a complete stranger or your best friend, your parent or a teacher. Could you imagine what it would be like? What conversations would go on that day?
Now go back to your own life. Think about one day, any day. Think about all of the judgment you passed that day. Think of all the people you encountered, your friends, family, strangers, and teachers. Go back to the thoughts or comments you made.
Imagine now the judgments people make of you; how you act, how you dress, the way you walk.
When did we all become the judge of others? Why do we go through life concerning ourselves with the lifestyle of others? We all have bad days or weeks, or more, but that is no excuse to take out your emotions by bringing people down.
I am not saying this to sound preachy or sound like I am without flaw because trust me, I am so guilty of it myself. I try though, and I think that is what is important.
I think all the time about my own insecurities and how I hope no one looks or talks about me in a mean way. We all have insecurities whether we are willing to own up to them or not. But, that's what is so great, we are all flawed and think differently. We all go through different situations, our own problems, that affect us in various ways. We all have our secrets, our own memories, the things in our life that make us who we are.
Think about that next time you take your anger out on someone or judge them. Who are we? None of us are in any place to make fun of people or criticize people. No one person is better than another. We don't know what people are going through or went through in life.
Put yourself in their shoes for a day, or even just that moment when you are deciding to make fun or judge. Check yourself. Look around you. What's the point of it? What will you get from it? Then, decide to try and refrain from what you were about to do.
