I can confidently say that I know every single one of you knows what has been going on in our country recently. Everyone has seen video footage, news reports, and very opinionated Facebook statuses. We have seen people tear each other down through arguments, name calling, and racial slurs. WAKE UP, AMERICA!
This is not what our country was founded on. This is not what our ancestors fought for. This is the devil reaching out to us and pulling us closer day-by-day. Our country needs love. Our country needs prayer.
"And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light."
2 Corinthians 11:14
First let me start by saying this, black lives matter. I will never know what it's like to be of different skin, and I am a strong supporter of that movement ...as long as it is peaceful. Now let me also say this, police lives matter. We need our police men and women. Those men and women that wake up every morning to walk on that thin blue line need our support now more than ever.
"Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves." Romans 12:10
To those who have a different color skin than I, I'm sorry. I'm sorry racism still exists. I'm sorry that you are being targeted. I'm sorry that I can't take the hurt away. I will stand with you, I will love you, and I will do my best to support you.
To the men and women who wear blue, I'm sorry. I'm sorry that the people you proudly serve have turned against you. I'm sorry your courageous and heroic job has been given a bad name. I'm sorry that you have to worry about whether or not you will make it home at the end of the day. I'm sorry I can't take the hurt away. I will stand with you, I will love you, and I will do my best to support you.
Today and every day I would like to encourage every single one of you to love more and hate less. Listen more and talk less. Pray more and judge less. We need each other through these hard times, and until we decide to stand together, nothing will change.
As it is, there are many parts, yet one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you," nor again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you."
1 Corinthians 12:20-21
