Sometimes it's hard to be a waitress.

It's hard to be a waitress when you want cry, but your job requires you to be happy.

It's hard to be a waitress when you are as happy as can be, but your customers are grumpy, or rude, or not in the mood for your excitement.

It's hard when you are drop dead exhausted, but you have to run and get this and that and those lemons for that other table over there.

It can be hard sometimes when you have had the roughest day, but you can't let the customer see that.

It's hard to be a waitress sometimes when you have to deal with people you don't enjoy working with, but you can't let that show out in the dining room.

It's hard when you feel like you're doing so great, and a customer finds a way to slam you down into the ground.

It can be so hard when you're not feeling your best, and a table can't understand why you are coming off as somewhat rude.

It's hard to be a waitress when nothing seems to be going right for the whole night.

It can be hard to be a waitress when it's a slow night, you have nothing to do, and a the only table you have is getting sick of you checking back on them.

It's hard when you're in a hurry, and a table who said they were ready to order is taking the longest time to figure out what sides they want.

It can be hard when you have a table with lots of children, and the parents don't want to deal with them, seeing as how they are not at home, and you end up with a royal mess after they leave.

Sometimes it's hard when children are rude, or misbehaving and the parents don't seem to care at all.

It's hard when a table is blatantly rude to you, but you can't do anything about it, because you are the polite waitress and the customer is always right even when they are so totally wrong.

It's hard to be a waitress when you need the manager to fix something for you and he can't understand how you messed up so terribly.

It's hard when you have to explain to a customer why they cannot substitute this for that, or why they cannot get a discount on that, or why we don't serve this item anymore, or why we cannot just let them use that coupon for this when it is quite obviously for that.

It can be hard to be a waitress when the cooks don't understand why you need that food so urgently, as it's the order that you forgot to put in.

It can be hard when the cooks make a mistake on your order, but you don't catch it until you're putting it down on the table, and now you have to take responsibility for it, or if you don't the customer will just blame you anyway. (Unless you're that waitress that just blames the kitchen for everything.)

It can be hard to be a waitress when you really have to use the bathroom, but it's the middle of the rush.

It's so hard when you are incredibly hungry but you're not allowed to eat the food that is surrounding you on all sides.

It can be hard when it's a beautiful day outside, and your customers keep telling you that, but you are committed to a whole day in the restaurant.

It's hard sometimes when you ask a table how they are doing and they answer with "water." (I've always wonder what kind of feeling that is.)

It can be hard when you ask a table if they are ready to order and you get absolutely no answer at all.

It's hard to be a waitress when you find out a table didn't tip you.

It can be hard when you've had a very long night, but at the end of it when you count your money, you see that you did not do near as well as you thought you were going to.

It's hard to be a waitress when you have four other tables, but this one thinks that they are your only concern.

It can be hard when you weren't supposed to work tonight, but they really needed someone and you were who they called. So now you're taking orders when you wanted to be out with friends.

It's hard when you have something going on with family, but you have to be at work instead of with them because no one would take your shift for you.

It's hard when you want to be rude, but your job is to be polite.

It's hard when you are feeling sad, but your job is to be happy.

It's hard when you're incredibly angry, but your job is to be understanding.

It's hard when you're rushed, but your job is to be patient.

It's hard when you want to be somewhere else, but your job is to be there, at table four. taking that order.

Sometimes it's hard to be a waitress. But only sometimes. It may seem like a lot of times it's harder rather than easy, but that's not all the time.

A lot of the time it is fun when you get to wait on your regulars.

It's fun when you have awesome people to work with, which is most of the time.

It's fun when you get those generous tips.

It's fun when your manger brings in pizza, or someone brings ice cream, or some other food that you're actually allowed to eat without getting in trouble. (As long as the customers don't see.)

It's fun when you're truly happy to be there and working. If you're not, then you should find a different job. Because even though it's hard sometimes to be a waitress, I love doing it most of the time, and I will be disappointing when I finally have to leave and start another career in a new field that I have yet to explore.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
