Waiting...

A lot of times, we don't give our lives completely to God. One of the things we tend to not give to God is our love life. We want to pursue whoever we want and not wait for the relationship God has for us. Whether that be in two weeks, two months, or two years, we always put God on the back burner when it comes to our love lives.

Before pursuing someone else, ask yourself these questions...

-Am I ready for a relationship?

-Am I wanting a relationship or just a friend?

-Is my devotion to God obvious?

-Do they love Jesus?

-Are they trying to pursue me too?

-What would I want from the relationship?

-What would they want from the relationship?

-What do I feel around them in real life vs. text message?

Before any of that, I strongly suggest you pursue Jesus first. Learn how to love him with your whole heart. Because once you know how to love Jesus, love will flow out of you in your words and actions. When you know how to love Jesus, he will show you how to love another human being with every inch of your soul.

Our love lives will never be like the movies or TV shows. Our love lives will never be perfect. There will be days when you can hardly stand being around each other, and days that you don't want them to leave your side. There will be days that you don't feel like you love them, but you know that you do love them.

Don't let your selfish desires get in the way of God's plan for your life. His plan will always be better than the plan you have for yourself. He knows the things you don't have any idea about. He knows who you will marry, how many kids you will have, what you will grow up to be, and where you will live. He knows the name of your first child and the town in which that child will live.

When you give your life to God completely, everything changes. The way you love, the way you live, and the way speak all change. Someday, you will find someone who will love you for the simple things you do. You will find someone who will love you so unconditionally and know how to treat you. You will find someone who cares about the small stuff in your life. You will find someone who will show you the love of Jesus even when it's hard. You will find that someone whom God has for you, you need only to wait.

I understand that waiting for God can be difficult, but I can promise you that waiting for the right person at the right time with the right heart and right motives will be worth the wait.

Until then, find yourself and find out who God is. Love God with all your soul and don't let him go. Learn how to love Him and yourself first. And remember that He loves you. He picked you. He WANTS you.

Psalm 75:2- "you say, I choose the appointed time; it is I who judge with equity."

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help.
