Ladies, Wait For Your Ted Mosby

Behind every Barney is a Ted Mosby.

It's going to be legen... wait for it... DARY! Your wedding with the perfect man will be legendary. Everything will be perfect. You'll have the perfect dress, planned out every little detail, and most importantly, have your soulmate waiting for you at the end of the aisle. And who's that soulmate? Someone as loving and romantic like Ted Mosby. As Teddy West Side from "How I Met Your Mother" once said, "if you're looking for the word that means caring for someone beyond all rationality and wanting them to have everything they want no matter how much it destroys you, it's love."

Ladies, wait for your Ted Mosby. Why? Because every woman dreams of finding a man who will take them out on a beautiful first date, steal a blue French horn (or a whole orchestra), and to grow old with surrounded by their grandchildren. Every woman dreams of finding their soulmate, even if they admit or not. Even if they have to date a few Barneys first (hey, I'm not complaining about NPH).

He's passionate.

Men like Ted Mosby know what they want (most of the time). They steal colored instruments, throw three parties in one weekend to impress a girl (Gatsby, anyone?), combine a whole night's date into one two-minute date, propose in an arcade and still make it romantic--all while never giving up. The fact that Ted Mosby never gave up proves that he's passionate. Find your Ted. Find your Teddy West Side.

He cares about his friends.

Any guy that can take a leap across a building for his friends is a guy that I'd date. Ted was there for his friends day and night, always there to listen and do stuff with. He always went on legendary adventures with Barney, stood up for Lily when she had panic attacks about commitment, and supported Marshall when he was always feeling down. Never forget the times when he broke up with his girlfriend(s) when they didn't like Robin. Get a guy that cares about his friends. Sure, he loves you but he's also gotta love his friends too.

He loves his mom.

Ted always loved his mom. Sure, he bonded with his dad over baseball, but he was more there in his mom's life than his dad's. He supported her when she wanted to marry Clint. He gave that loving speech in front of her on her doorstep. Get a man that loves his mom. Because the way he treats his mom is parallel to the way he'll treat you.

He never gives up.

It was close to ten years of broken hearts, legendary nights of being single, and a lot of drinking late at the bar before Ted met his soulmate, Tracy. Maybe his hope waivered for a minute there in season seven, but he never truly gave up (he matured). See above where he is passionate--he never gives up. When a man doesn't give up, it shows that he's committed to the promise he made when he said he loves you.

He can take care of you.

He'll take care of you when you're sick in bed, can't take care of the kids, or when that b*tch Patrice can't shut up. A guy like Ted is emotionally invested in this relationship and won't run away at the first sound of "we need to talk." Get you a man who can listen to you when you didn't get that promotion or found out your little sister is getting married before you. No matter what happens, he's there for you.

He's had his heart broken before.

Everyone's had their heart broken before. It's no secret that Ted Mosby's heart has been shattered by several girlfriends: Victoria, Stella, Zoey, Robin. But through all those broken hearts, Ted found his soulmate. And all was right. So, if you feel like giving up, don't. Because Ted didn't and you shouldn't either.

Ladies, stop clowning around with a guy like Barney. Look beyond Barney to see that Ted Mosby, sitting in a booth alone. Go talk to him. Look at Ted--he took a chance to talk to the bass player and see where it took him. Find your Ted Mosby. He's out there. Just never give up, never lose faith.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
