Its finally starting to look and feel like Fall in South Carolina. For those of us that have been too hot to pull out our favorite fall boots and scarfs, fingers crossed that it actually stays like this. Maybe we will even be in for some snow this winter, like real snow not that slush that Southern people call snow. Until it starts to freeze, here are a few things that can make your fall experience better.
Make S'mores!
This is my absolute favorite fall treat to make when sitting around the bonfire with friends. It's just something about a fire and s'mores that makes everything more fun when the degrees drops a bit. If you don't have a good place to do your bonfire that's okay, just grab a candle! Now you can make it a romantic night inside while snuggling up and probably watch Netflix.
Take a Foliage Drive!
If the weather hasn't dropped too much then make this a walk not a drive. I suggest going to your local state park. It will be beautiful walk with the leaves and the water. If its too cold to walk then turn this into a drive on a country road. The likely hood of traffic is limited and if you see anything it might be a tractor, which will just make the drive even better.
Make a Fort!
I love forts! It's just something magical about the things you can build out of your household furniture and some sheets/blankets. Once you build your awesome fort, (because there as never been a fort that isn't awesome), you can do whatever until someone decides that the fort is under attack and then your creation is wrecked.
Go to the Mountains!
There is no better time to take a trip up to the mountains than when the leaves are changing colors. You can zip line through the trees, travel to all the little towns, and have the best view of this beautiful planet. It's also the best time to come across your not everyday stores. You will find the coolest items in small town mountain stores.
Playing in the Leaves!
You are never to old to play in the leaves! After all if you need to rake the leaves then you have to reward yourself afterwards, its a tough job. Its really a treat when you involve your younger family members. It's something about leaves that just makes fall better than the other season, don't worry we can agree to disagree.
