Isn't there enough "shaming" going on in the world right now? We have fat shaming, skinny shaming, body shaming in general, slut shaming, gay shaming, and now... vote shaming?

Why is this even a thing? I understand. It's 2016 and people are much more vocal about voicing their opinions and sharing their political views (especially on good old Facebook). But shaming others for their political views and bashing on them for who they are voting for, or the fact that they are not voting at all... it needs to end.

I'm not voting, there, I said it. I feel like I brand myself with a Scarlett Letter whenever I admit that. That makes people angry and I'm constantly receiving disapproving looks and the "it's your right to vote," "people fought hard in this country to give you that right to your vote and you're just wasting it," etc, etc. Listen, I get it. It's so important to vote and I'm not saying it's not. But look at our choices!

Can you really blame me for not wanting to be a part of sending either of them to the top? I'm not morally okay with the idea that my vote would help either of them get to that seat in the Oval Office. I'm sorry but they are both terrible candidates and I'm actually disappointed with this country for letting both of them get this far in the first place. I don't think either of them are anyone's ideal candidate, most of you are just settling on which one is less horrid than the other. And I don't think that's right. I shouldn't be shamed for that not wanting to take part in this election. Yes it's my right to vote, but it's also my right not to vote.

You're shamed if you're voting for Hillary, you're shamed if you're voting for Donald, you're shamed if you're Third Party...but then you're shamed if you're not voting at all? Come on America, get your shit together.

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
