A vote does not equal full support

I voted for Donald Trump, but I do not support all of his decisions.

A vote does not equal full support

I voted for Donald Trump to be the president of the United States of America. Over the past week, he has said lots of things and signed lots of papers, bringing different opinions out of everyone around me. Because I voted for Trump back in November, it has been assumed that because of my vote, I support everything that the new president is doing, but that simply isn't true.

When I voted for Trump, it wasn't because I aggreed with everything he was saying or supported everything that he said he was going to do. I did a lot of research and made my decision without letting other people's opinions impact who I was going to vote for.

When my phone buzzes to alert me that the president has signed another document pushing forward something that was stopped or stopping something that was being pushed forward, I don't always smile and celebrate. There have been many things that Trump has made decisions on that I do not agree with, and it confuses people that I am upset when he does something because it is assumed that I support everything he does because I voted for him.

I have also been asked if I regret my decision to vote for him, and to that I say no. If I had voted Clinton or third party, it wouldn't have changed who won the election. My one vote wouldn't have made somebody else win.

Some of the things that have happed sadden me, but I have not lost hope in this country, because even though there are bad things happening, there is always a way to make it right again and one man with a pen can't ruin everything.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
