My Voice Will Be Heard.

As a hispanic voter, my vote does count.

My vote will count and I will let my voice be heard for a first time as a Hispanic voter. I don’t care if my candidates win or not. Voting to me is the most powerful tool that a Hispanic person can have. Yes, we are still part of the minority but that is starting to change so much.

However, many of us don’t realize that we are growing as a population so they get discouraged and don’t exercise their right to vote. They throw it out the window because to them one vote wont make a difference. The reality is that it means more than you would think. As a Hispanic community we have been looked at as a community that should be feared or not even looked at because we are too lazy to vote. Well let me tell you that you should fear us as voters because you always seek us out and try to appeal to us in order to take our vote. Once we stand next to a candidate that will advocate for us there is no stopping us from voting. They have become so afraid of us voting that they have created voter ID laws that try to stop us from voting. Yet, you see that doesn’t hold us back as a community. Instead we work harder, advocate harder, and get even more people to vote in order for our voices to be heard.

According to Pew Research Center the number of Latino voters has been increasing so much over the years but we have to let our voices be heard during the presidential elections. Your vote does count no matter what anyone tells. A single vote can make a bigger difference than you could ever imagine. We must raise our numbers and show that we are here, we are listening and that we will come out and raise our voices. We must raise our numbers and prove that we are way more than just minority and a simple vote to gain. We are a community looking for our voice to be and have someone raise our voice even higher.

Tu voto es tu vos! Let it be heard and let it be known that we are are not criminals and rapists as a certain candidates depict us to be. Our numbers our growing and so should our voices. Go out and vote because to prove the world wrong is by dropping the ballot in the box with a smile on your face making the world know of your presence. I voted and i will be heard now if we all voted we would create change that we all want to see. Now will you vote and let your voice be heard this election year?

We matter. Our vote matter. Our Voice matters. We will be heard!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
