A Voice For The Voiceless

Why I do it.

A Voice For The Voiceless

Standing for your beliefs is never easy, you will always have someone who disagrees with you. I get asked all the time why I am pro-life. The answer is quite simple: I choose to be a voice for the voiceless. I choose to stand up for tiny humans who cannot yet stand, or walk or talk. I choose to see past science and doctors and look to the reason we all are here, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The pro-life movement is more, to me anyways, than a political stance. It is all about being a voice for those who cannot speak. Unborn lives are the most innocent of all lives. They've never seen the light of day, or dealt with the harmful tolls of the cruel world. Dr. Seuss says, "A person's a person, no matter how small." And this stays true to the tiniest of all humans -the fetus. At just a short four weeks a baby's eyes, ears and respiratory system begin to form and grow. The baby can suck their thumb, and a week later a heartbeat can be found by an ultra sound. Life is truly a gift from God, and is too often taken for granted, even so before this tiny life can take on the world.

I choose to fight for the right for a baby to have a chance. I choose to fight for the little girl who would defeat all odds and be an inspiration to many others. I choose to fight for the boy who would one day grow to defend our nation and sacrifice everything to do so. I choose to fight for the child who never stood a chance, while all the doctors advised the family to abort, he pulls through by the Grace of God. Every single life has value, so I fight for every life to have a chance.

The Bible says, in Jeremiah 1:5, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart, I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." Before we were ever a thought in others minds, God had mapped out our entire lives. We were made to serve Him, we were made for a purpose. This is why I fight, because God intended for every life to have value. He sacrificed his own son so that every life would have a chance. God created EVERY life with his own hands, that is something so precious and something that should not be taken away at someone else's discretion.

I hear statements all the time against pro-life activists, statements such as "You aren't pro-life you're pro-fetus," or "It's your body, your choice." Well you're right when you say I am pro-fetus, because a fetus is a life and I intend to stand up for him/her. I am more than proud to say I am pro-life, because every day I wake up and know that I am fighting for something bigger than me. I am proud to stand up for what I believe and be a very loud voice for the voiceless!

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
