Feeling bored. this summer and jealous of everyone going on amazing vacations out of the state? Well, New Jersey also has some amazing places that you may not even be aware of! Check this list out for some inspiration for your summer bucket list!

1. Rutgers Gardens

Start exploring the garden state at our very own home. Rutgers Gardens is a must to visit. It has amazing hiking trails, garden areas, and surrounding nature. It’s an amazing place to spend the day with family, this summer.

2. Grounds For Sculpture

Grounds For Sculpture is a sculpture park and museum located in Hamilton, NJ. In addition to the superb sculptures around the park, you can also find trails to walk on, indoor galleries, and even a restaurant to eat at!

3. High Point

The name says it all. High Point is located in Montague and is the highest point in New Jersey. It also has some amazing hiking trails, great views, and a beautiful lake. It’s a great place to spend the day!

4. Princeton Campus and Princeton University Art Museum

Home of Albert Einstein, Princeton University, and many other notable things, downtown Princeton is a place not to be missed. You can spend the day doing anything from eating in amazing restaurants, to boating in the Carnegie Lake, to even learning a little bit of history. It’s a family-friendly, fun place to visit and should definitely be on your summer bucket list.

5. Sourland Mountain Preserve

Ever wanted to hike a mountain in NJ? Well here’s your chance! Located in Hillsborough, NJ, Sourland Mountain Preserve is great for anyone who is looking for a real challenge this summer. Grab your best pair of hiking shoes and good friend and go explore the mountain!

6. Buzz Aldrin Astronomical Center

Stargaze at the Buzz Aldrin Astronomical Center this summer. The center is located in Lebanon, NJ and is named after astronaut Buzz Aldrin who grew up in New Jersey. The center is open the fourth weekend of each month in March through May and has expanded hours from June through October. Visit the center to see through the biggest telescope in the state.

7. Cape May Beach

Of course, no list about New Jersey Places would be complete without mention of one of the states great beaches. Be sure to visit the beach at the tip of New Jersey this summer and see the Victorian style homes, Cape May Lighthouse, and more!
