As the rain starts to dissipate and the sun starts to peak out behind the last three months of gloom, I am once again reminded how in love I am with Bellingham. From the water to the trees and downtown, I seem to find something new each day that pulls me in closer to the love I have for this city.

Here are 7 reasons why Bellingham is truly the greatest city:

1. Sunsets.

Nothing beats them. The warm pinks and oranges as they glow up the sky, make for a perfect evening.

2. The Local Charm.

One thing I have always been drawn to Bellingham for is their emphasis on local feel. There are so many places around the city that are local and DELICIOUS. Check out Primer Coffee.

3. The Hikes.

There are a handful of beautiful hikes. I promise you, no one will disappoint.

4. Fairhaven.

This little gem of the city is cute, packed with specialty shops and good food.

5. The Coffee.

Yes, Bellingham has some of the best coffee I have ever had (and I am a snob). Check out Camber, Primer, Black Drop, Avellino and Trove coffee — just to name a few.

6. The dogs.

When that sun starts the shine, Bellingham is dogs galore. Everyone starts to walk there adorable, furry friends and they are everywhere. If you need your dog fix, go to Boulevard park on a sunny day.

7. The People.

The people here are genuinely authentic, caring, and fun! I have met so many locals who are always willing to help me out, give great suggestions, and always spark conversation. Bellingham truly is the best.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
