The "If Virginia Were *Insert Popular TV Show Here* Characters" trend has been going around for a while now and since I have yet to see a "Big Bang Theory" one, so I've decided to get in on it with this article.

DISCLAIMER: None of these descriptions are meant to put down a specific school. This is just meant to be fun.

1. The University of Virginia (UVA) is Sheldon Cooper.

Sheldon Cooper is clearly the smartest in his friend group....and he never lets the others forget it. He's quick to emphasize his intelligence and is very competitive, especially when it comes to feats of knowledge. Because of this, many people speak ill of Sheldon, believing him to be stuck up. Despite his more questionable characteristics, Sheldon is also very passionate and driven as are the students of UVA. If Sheldon Cooper had gone to a school in Virginia, he'd have found his home at the University of Virginia.

2. Virginia Tech is Leonard Hofstadter.

Very smart in his own right, but not quite on the level of Sheldon Cooper, Leonard Hofstadter definitely embodies Virginia Tech. Everybody loves him. He's smart, funny, and easy to get along with although sometimes, like Sheldon, he may talk down to people as he too sees himself to be someone of superior intelligence. That small fact aside, Leonard is definitely the golden boy of the Big Bang group, just like Virginia Tech is the golden boy of Virginia colleges.

3. James Madison University (JMU) is Howard Wolowitz.

Well-liked and very smart, although not viewed in the same prestigious category as his friends, Howard Wolowitz would be James Madison University. On the surface, Wolowitz wears a lot of purple (Duke pride anyone?). He tends to come off as "a little much" but when people get to know him, they realize that he's really just a sweet guy. He may not have his doctorate like the rest of his friend group, but he's made a lot of great accomplishments in his field. Wolowitz also gets the best food out of all of his friends thanks to his mother's cooking (shout out to JMU's dining services). Last but not least (and I'm genuinely sorry for this one), Wolowitz is known to be the "sex-enthusiast" of the group and JMU has the highest STD rate of all Virginia colleges currently. (SORRY I HAD TO!) Anyway, Howard Wolowitz would totally be a Duke if he were to attend a college in Virginia.

4. William and Mary is Raj Koothrappali.

Brilliant, re-fined, and far more "low key" than the other members of his group, Raj's personality sums up William and Mary. Raj keeps it classier than his other friends, often (attempting) to host lavish dinner parties and holiday gatherings, only to be mocked by his peers. He often feels lonely because his personality can be so far from the people he hangs out with. Ultimately, Raj is loyal and a great friend and easily one of the best in the group even though he is often overlooked. Plus he looks great in green.

5. Christopher Newport University is Amy Farrah Fowler.

Conservative and laid back, Amy Farrah Fowler best correlates with Christopher Newport University. She's smart and quirky and tries to fit in with the others in the group but basically is a category of her own. She's not a huge partier, although she tries to roll with the others when it comes to parties and drinking. She grew up with strict parents (hence her mother telling her to eat bananas corn-on-the-cob-style because "that's how good girls do it") and while she's not a total square, she still harbors some of those ultra conservative values, but that doesn't mean she can't let loose.

6. George Mason University is Bernadette Rostenkowski.

Smart, well-spoken, and always ready to stand up for what she believes in, Bernadette Rostenkowski is George Mason University. She's soft spoken and reserved until an issue that she's passionate about comes up and then...BAM! She can't be ignored. There's no doubt that if Bernadette attended school in Virginia she would be all about George Mason's hustle and bustle.

And last but NEVER least...

7. Radford University is Penny (who was never given a last name on the show)

Penny is fun, a bit of a party animal, and everyone assumes that she's not very smart. However, as the show progresses, Penny shows that she's actually very intelligent despite initial impressions. Penny is a great friend and knows how to let loose and have a good time. She's also a dreamer and a hard worker and doesn't let the negative words of others get her down...much like Radford University. If Penny came to college in Virginia, she would immediately be drawn to Radford University where she can hit the books and strive towards her goals all day and then party it up Nebraska style all night!

Once again, no portrayal in this article was meant to offend. Let me know in the comments below if I got it right and if I didn't properly capture your school, please leave which character you believe would match up with your university!

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Syllabus Week As Told By Kourtney Kardashian

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

831
Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
