Disney+ being added to one of the many streaming services out there was an exciting announcement to Disney lovers all over the world! While there are tons of options of TV shows, musicals, and documentaries, I have found myself wandering my mouse to the movies section. This particular category has the largest amount of options, but my personal favorites are the films made before my time.
These vintage movies bring good feelings, teach important lessons, and reignite the beauty of old cinema!
That Darn Cat! (1965)
This film starring Hayley Mills is an action-packed adventure. Viewers will be on the edge of your seat as a woman who has been recently taken hostage relies on a finicky cat to save her life.
The Apple Dumpling Gang (1975)
The iconic duo Don Knotts and Tim Conway star alongside Bill Bixby in this old western comedy. While this movie is full of laughs and quick jokes, it also teaches that family is not just those who are connected to you by blood, but those who love you the most.
Bedknobs and Broomsticks (1971)
Angela Lansbury is a kindhearted witch-in-training who is forced to house three mischevious kids in her country home to protect them from the war. While she is reluctant at first, she and the children partake in a wild adventure to obtain all of her witchcraft knowledge.
The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes (1969)
College student Dexter Riley (played by Kurt Russell) finds himself is a sticky situation when his brain is transformed into a "human computer" during an electrical accident. With the help of his faithful friends, he decides to use his new skills to attempt to save his financially failing college. This film is full of laughs, adventure, and heart-warming moments.
Mary Poppins (1964)
The phenomenal Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke star in this film about a magical nanny who arrives at a dysfunctional household in London. With the power of music, laughter, and a little bit of magic, Mary Poppins teaches the Banks family that their love for each other and others should always come first.
Gus (1976)
Edward Asner, Don Knotts and Tim Conway star in this comedic movie about a mule who saves a pitiful football team with his powerful kicks. After Gus the mule is introduced to the public, thieves devise a plan to kidnap the new star.
The Muppet Movie (1979)
This fun-filled movie tells the story of how the muppets we all know and love came to be. Viewers can embark on an adventure with Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, and all the other colorful characters invented by Jim Henson himself.
