Technology has become such a huge and constant advancement in our society. However, it can be a blessing and a curse. It is amazing that we have discovered several different ways we can communicate with each other. It's convenient for contacting family and friends that live apart from you, but this also means that individuals can easily get carried away with technology. It is common for one to become attached to their phone that they often don't want to socialize in person. However, when they do partake in social encounters, everyone is usually just as addicted to their phones in which they don't show their full attention in conversation due to the obsession and distraction of their devices.

The time we take out of every day to be on our phones is extremely profound. We are constantly scrolling through social media looking at others and envying them; as a result, we feel worse about ourselves by living vicariously through others. Although it was just another reason to be on your phone, Vine had such a positive impact because it was a fantastic way to relieve stress and forget about your problems.

The way I view Vine is defined as a way to express yourself and also empower others. Enormous amounts of people every day would post these six-second videos of themselves or others just goofing off and being themselves. If others enjoyed their posts, they would follow and look up to them. It became a community, as well as a daily activity to scroll through the app to have a good laugh.

Even though Vine is no longer here, I am thankful I was able to have access to it when it was around. I seriously cannot imagine being without vine in high school. During this time of physical, emotional, and social growth, this period in life is most definitely hard for everyone. This app was such a light in my life when things were going wrong or I just felt down. Whenever I felt sad, mad, confused, or bored, I could always count on Vine to help bring my spirits up and make me feel better by laughing.

Although it is gone, Vine will never be forgotten. Yes, I am referring to this app as a person because it has impacted so many people all over the world. For example, let's say an individual uses a reference to a vine in a conversation in which the majority of the time others will pick up on it. Therefore, it is such a great way for individuals to break the ice and form relationships by just bonding over their favorite vines.

I'll never forget the impact Vine had on my life and those around me. It has truly been a hard time living without it, but we're all staying strong and carrying on its legacy through our constant referencing. Thank you, Vine, for being you, and I hope to see you again one day.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
