5 Ways To Explain Any And All Villanova Losses To Your Friends

In This Article:

When you're friends ask you why the Wildcat's lost to Marquette, you need to respond somehow. Here are some of my favorites. and individually unique ways to explain exactly why we lost that game.

1. "I mean... a bunch of our best players went to the NBA so we can't be expected to be as good as we were last year."

You need to let people know that we lost some amazing players after winning the championship, that way they know why we are playing a little differently.

2. "Yeah well after every championship win we need a rebuilding year. Just like every team!"

Yeah, so you really want to use some good vocabulary like rebuilding year. Of course, we have a ton of great veteran players on our team, but we are also trying to develop a ton of new stars alongside them.

3. "Well you see what happens is, once you win a championship, a bunch of great players get drafted to the NBA and so we have to develop a whole new team"

Really drill it home that we won a the NCAA championship last year, if you can, mention the 2016 win too. The more you flex, the less affected you seem by the loss.

4. "Yeah I mean... we lost, but if you think about, we came really close considering we started almost completely fresh from last year."

You always want to make sure you acknowledge that Villanova is CONSTANTLY exceeding expections. Win or lose, we blow the critiques out of the water, we can handle a loss. We will bounce back. (Plus we are training a bunch of new players to become as great as the current and past players on our amazing amazing team)

5. "We kind of have to expect to lose a few games considering our team is so new. Really, we are doing wayyy better than any other team could if they were in our situation, you know, being in a rebuilding year and all that."

...

No matter what you say. Just make sure to make it clear that even when we lose, we are better than the other team. Points.. what are they? We are WILDCATS. We are VILLANOVA. We are INCREDIBLE. Even when we take Ls we still come out on topo. Besides, it's like, a rebuilding year or something like that.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.
