When it comes to underwear and bras, the first place that every woman most likely thinks of first is Victoria's Secret, and who can blame them? The highly successful company has been the favorite for women worldwide, myself included. I haven't met one female who hasn't stepped foot into the pink-walled store, and we all recognize the smells of the body sprays that we'd keep in our gym lockers. Nothing else says "I'm ready for class" like smelling like cotton candy and flowers. I even remember hearing girls my age gush over a new swimsuit that they bought with money they saved up, excitedly telling everyone that it was special, because it was from Victoria's Secret.
However, pretty soon the company will cease to sell their infamous swimsuit line.
The company recently reported that all Victoria's Secret stores will halt the sales of their swimsuit collections by the end of this year to focus more on lingerie, PINK, and beauty lines.
Now, I for one have always wanted to purchase a swimsuit from Victoria's Secret, since my wallet always surrenders to their comfortable hoodies and glittering yoga pants that were eye candy to any girl. They always gave the best support, and they knew how to make a girl feel good on the beach or by the pool, places that we all want to feel beautiful by.
So, when they announced the discontinuation of the swim suits, I was not too pleased, and neither were some others.
"I get a swimsuit from Victoria's Secret every year for the summer. I'm so sad that they won't be selling them anymore." reports a Montclair State University student. "They're my favorite swimsuit brand."
Others, however, couldn't care less.
"Those bathing suits were extremely overpriced, I don't see why anyone would consider purchasing them in the first place. No wonder they're going to stop selling them." says another student from Montclair State.
This decision was brought on by the reports of sales that showed a decrease in annual swimsuit sales altogether. The CEO of the company stated that this change will ultimately lead to a progression of sales for the company as a whole, as they will now be able to focus more on their other lines to create even more success than they've already attained.
Victoria's Secret plans on placing more of its attention on its activewear line, so at least we can look super cute all the while working out!
Don't take this news too harshly ladies, while their swimsuits will no longer be in stores, just think about how you'll appreciate the suits you already have in your collection, and for those of you who have yet to purchase a suit, get on it before they're gone!
