We are nearing the end of the school year, so the pressure is tenser than it has ever been. Many of our teachers are adding more to the stresses of trying to teach us all the material before the end of the year. We have anxiety about our grades not being where we want them to be but we also have the anxiety of all the other areas of our life. Some days we seem to not get past the fact that the anxiety is all temporary. Thankfully, we have a bible that provides verses helps relieve our day-to-day anxiety.

Philippians 4:6-7

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.
