For me, summer is a time full of friends, good food, and self reflection. I often find myself laying in my bed reflecting on my school year and thinking about how I can better my life for the following year. When I reflect, sometimes I feel overwhelmed, worried, or anxious.

When this happens, I have to take a step back and remind myself how amazing our God is and how as long as I am walking with him, everything will be okay. It can often be hard to remember this, so that is why I've come up with 18 incredible bible verses to live by this summer.

1. Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

2. Psalm 34: 8

11. 1 Corinthians 15:58

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

12. Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you;

do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you;

I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

13. John 6:47

Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life.

14. Psalm 23:4

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

15. 1 Peter 5:7

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

16. Proverbs 11:25

A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.

17. Nahum 1:7

18. 1 Johns 4:4

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

Whenever I feel stressed, overwhelmed, or even worried, I read through these verses and remind myself how lucky I am to have a God who loves me so much. These verses are so encouraging no matter what is going on in life. I encourage each of you to take a minute out of your day and reflect on what you're doing and if you feel the slightest bit lost, refer to these verses and remember our amazing God.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
