Reflection on Verse for Today

God performed a beautiful thing once Adam, the only man, had finished naming all of the animals, fish, birds, and creepy creatures. Once Adam had named every kind of creature that existed, God constructed Eve from the bone of Adam’s bone and the flesh of Adam’s flesh. They were then joined in a God-orchestrated, loving marriage union: “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh.”

What a glorious representation of our own, heavenly Man, the last Adam, the second Man, our dear Lord Jesus Christ, for we are one with Him, united with Him, a very member of His Body, bone of His bone, and flesh of His flesh. This is because we are a member of His body and share bone and flesh with him. What a magnificent representation of our very own precious Bridegroom, who gave birth to His very own precious Bride from the pierced and wounded side of His own body.

My Prayer

Heavenly Father, you are an amazing Creator God, and Jesus Christ, who was our very own perfect man, is a priceless Savior for us. Thank you for being such a wonderful God. I give thanks that, just as You remade Adam in Your image and likeness when You created him, You have also remade me, given me a new birth, and joined me to Jesus. I give thanks that You have made me a new creation in Christ through Your mercy, that You have joined me to Him, and that You have seated me along with Him in the celestial regions. All glory and acclaim are due to You, without end. Amen.
