Some people's idea of Vermont is slopes and expensive ski lodges. For some it is locally sourced, artisan foods, and craft beers. For many, it is only the metropolis of Vermont, the only "city" Burlington. Going to college in the college town of bustling Burlington had made me reminisce about rural Vermont (pretty mush the rest of Vermont).
To me, Vermont is beautiful, everything is full of life. I've lived in Vermont my whole life, but still find myself staring at the mountains, at the meadows, and at the streams, completely awe-struck.
Vermont always provides you with an adventure. There may not be a mall to go to, and unfortunately no Target, but there is always the opportunity to go hiking. I love to take the path less traveled.
The longest you ever have to wait in a "traffic jam" is five minutes maximum. The roads are shrouded by magical green tunnels of thickly woven tree branches.
When everyone is quiet and still, it isn't passing cars you hear, it is mother nature. The babble of streams, the twittering of birds, the whispering of wind through the trees and grass.
I love going out in the morning when everything is covered with dew. The air smells damp and fresh. Especially after it rains, you can smell clean earth and soil.
I didn't grow up next to noisy neighbors or crazy college kids throwing keggers. Yeah, I grew up next to cows.
I grew up in Vermont, and it may not be the Vermont that other people know of, but to me, it is perfect (despite absence of many modern day luxuries).
