If you have been thinking about going vegan but are worried that you won't be able to enjoy some of the foods you love anymore, think again!

In today's society, vegan alternatives are in much higher demand than they used to be because so many more people are making the switch with their diet. I believe this fact has made vegan alternatives much easier to find (there's a whole section filled with these products in most grocery stores), and it has made them a lot tastier and higher in variety.

There are multiple different kinds of milk, yogurts, and even cheeses that are all plant or nut-based now, and I was curious about a lot of the products companies are coming out with. I tried seven different vegan products and actually really liked all of them!

Here are some vegan alternatives to food that are super yummy and make you forget you're not eating the 'real' thing.

1. Trader Joe's Cashew Yogurt

Trader Joe's

I tried the vanilla bean cashew yogurt, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good this yogurt tasted. I was also very pleasantly surprised by the fact that this yogurt offers THREE GRAMS of protein! As a vegetarian or vegan, it can be really hard to make sure you're getting enough protein in your daily diet, so having three grams in a single yogurt, and having the yogurt taste delicious, was very exciting for me.

2. Amy's Black Bean Burrito

Amy's

If you're a burrito lover and don't want to give that up when going vegan, pick up one of these burritos next time you're at the store, and you will not be disappointed! This burrito was so easy to make and tasted just like something I would've ordered at a restaurant!

3. Oatly Oat Milk Barista Edition

OATLY!

For any of you coffee lovers out there, this Oatly Oat Milk Barista Edition is the best coffee creamer I have ever had. It is creamy and delicious and tastes just like regular coffee creamer! I have only had this brand of oat milk, but I'm sure all the oat milk out there is just as delicious.

4. Trader Joe's ChickenLESS Tenders

These chicken-less tenders have 11 grams (!!!) of protein per serving, and they're amazing. What more could a protein hungry vegetarian/vegan ask for?!

5. Annie's Vegan Mac

Annie's

The hardest thing for most people to give up when going vegan is any type of cheese. Annie's Vegan Mac is the perfect way for vegans to get their dose of cheese, while still eating everything plant-based!

6. Halo Top Dairy Free Ice Cream

Halo Top

I scream, you scream, even vegans scream for ice cream! Halo Top is known for their amazing, healthy and low calorie ice cream recipes, and they came out with a dairy free line to put them even closer to the top brand of ice cream ever.

7. Daiya Fire-Roasted Vegetable Vegan Pizza

Daiya

The one food I could not ever live without is pizza, hands down. So, when I found this pizza by Daiya I knew I had to try it, and I loved it. If you're a big pizza person, this is a must-try when becoming vegan.

The main thing that I liked about all of these products was that they aren't good because they're vegan, all of these products are good because they just simply taste good. I enjoyed the taste of all of these foods, and also took comfort in knowing that all of the products were plant/nut/oat-based and contained no animal products.

These products make the thought of going vegan a lot less daunting and can make the transition much smoother. I highly recommend all of these products to anyone who is thinking about going vegan or anyone who just wants to try some new yummy foods!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
