Albert Schweitzer once said, "In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit."
When we lose the people we care about the most, it hurts. It hurts to the point where we don't want to face the reality that they no longer exist in our lives.
Pain is an emotion that makes us realize how much someone really meant to us and where we kept them in our hearts. However, when they disappear it's like a part of our soul has been stripped away from us, leaving a raw and bloody wound.
The value of a relationship from one human being to another is more powerful than any of us can ever imagine. As Roy T. Bennett said,
"Everyone enjoys being acknowledged and appreciated. Sometimes even the simplest act of gratitude can change someone's entire day. Take the time to recognize and value the people around you and appreciate those who make a difference in your lives."
The people who want to connect with us or actually want to try to build a relationship with us are unique individuals because to them, we are human beings that deserve just as much value as them.
The people who do not want to connect with us will doubt us and speak nothing, but negative words to us. Toxic people like this do not deserve the same respect as the people who have always valued you or use to value you.
Although these people that we value may be gone they will forever be in our hearts. Their wisdom and kindness shall live on in us because like them, we want to make the world a better place.
For example, when someone we love passes away, we start to notice this emptiness in our lives. That emptiness may last for awhile, but that does not mean it will make us weaker. We will just have enough time to heal and become even more, stronger individuals than what we were before.
Is it easy? Well, it most certainly is not. Be that as it may, pain helps us learn to value the time we have with others. Pain helps us become who we are meant to be.
Appreciate the people you have in your lives because their lives are just as precious as yours. Every moment you spend with them can teach you a thing or two about life.
