Valentine's day is right around the corner. Some are planning intimate plans with their significant other and many are protesting or continuing to deny that this tradition should exist. Instead of denying the power of Cupid's bow, Take advantage of this chocolate filled day and treat yourself like a true queen. How you choose to spend Valentine's day is your business, but here are some tips on how to make that most out of February 14th.

Self Love Self Care

Let's face it, ladies, we are busy. With obligations left and right and keeping up with all of your homework doesn't leave us much time to take care of the things we really enjoy. Take a minute and focus on the things you really need. Maybe you need a good face mask, a manicure, or you really feel like adding a couple highlights to your hair. For me, I always feel like a new person filled with light when I make a couple of adjustments to my look. In this case, take this day to pamper yourself because you are worth it. This will give you the strength to continue being your fabulous self for the rest of this semester.

If you are not feeling like leaving your bed, maybe indulge in some online shopping. Add some pieces to your clothing collection because there is no better feeling like working a new outfit or adding a pair of leggings to your Lululemon addiction, or maybe that is just my problem. Don't waste the day being depressed about not having a Valentine because no one will love you until you love yourself. Now you may be thinking to yourself that its easier said than done, but allow me to plan out multiple itineraries and you choose how you want to spend this lovely day.

On the gym grind? Start your day off with a good run. working out or just moving your body will release good endorphins to make you more positive and enjoy the day for what it is.

Feeling like exercising your debit card? Add a manicure to your tab to give you little self-love, May I recommend Midtown nails, their messages will make you feel like a real queen.

Don't feel like spending money or leaving your bed? enjoy a day binge-watching your favorite show, with your favorite snack, and maybe a little face mask. your complexion will not only brighten, but knowing that Target sells wonderful and cheap facemasks will not only not damage your bank account, but you will be smiling too!

Cupid Calories

I really don't care about your keto diet or that you think your juice diet is making you feel like a Victoria Secret model, on Valentines Day, nothing counts. If you are really strict about your calorie intake, its good to treat yourself once in a while and if you are going to, DO IT RIGHT! Maybe you are feeling little Ice cream or an oatmeal bake from Heritage House... or maybe both? There is no better feeling like some yummy food to fuel your soul. Most importantly, food is better with friends! here are some fun things to do with your girls!

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
