As one of the stories goes, Valentine’s Day started because of a selfless and kind priest that married couples that loved each other instead of condemning them to a long, sad, loveless and arranged marriage. Eventually he died and all the couples that were able to be together because of him celebrated his life and his good deeds on one February 14 that then became a tradition, and that is why we still celebrate it today.

Even though it might stand for something noble, Valentine’s Day became more of a commercial holiday than an actual day to celebrate love. Everyone worries about who is going to talk to them, who will give them roses or chocolates or send them a singing gram. Instead of actually celebrating the love we have in our lives already: our parents, siblings, our family, our friends and pets.

So know that we are all on the same page here, and we all know that there is always someone who loves us, let's get real. Of course you’ll feel like staying in bed with a pint of phish food (which is never a bad idea), but if you feel like doing something else, here are some things you could do on this lovable date:

1. Order food

Because food equals happy stomach and heart, which equals love. Very simple really; food is almost always the answer. Or at least it will make you feel better!

2. Paint your nails

Nice nails make you feel pretty, just like matching underwear if you know what I mean.

3. Make some phone calls

To old friends you haven't talked to in a while and to your parents; definitely to your parents, it will make them very happy, and in return they will send you money that you will spend on alcohol and hence be happy. (Just kidding, unless you're 21 don't drink alcohol. Better yet, just don't drink no matter what age alcohol is bad.)

4. Get some wine

OK, yeah I said alcohol is bad, but red wine helps lower your chances of having a heart attack so not all alcohol is bad.

5. Chocolate

Not sure why I would have to explain myself further. Chocolate is major key.

6. Watch some banging movies

Movies are a joy of life so make sure you enjoy some romantic comedies with your friends on this day.

7. Speaking of friends

Share your food or share your GrubHub coupon with your friends for once in your life! Be the nice, warm hearted person that you know you are on the inside.

8. Smile

Think about all the good things you have in life right now and how happy they make you and smile, a genuine smile that people can catch.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.

Being a music major is not all kicks and giggles. In fact, there are days when I question my sanity and doubt myself as a musician. I know I am not the only one going through the struggle, and so here are 13 GIFs that I know my fellow music majors can relate to...
