Don't @ me, but it seriously is so overrated.
1. Being Single
The number one reason why Valentine's day is not fun is if you are not in a relationship. You basically are alone and surrounded by couples that are exchanging valentines and kisses on the cheeks. Count me out. With couples all around it only reminds you that you don't have that special someone in your life.
2. Way Too Commercialized
Another reason why Valentine's day is not my favorite holiday is the amount of money that usually centers around showing your love for someone. For example, some common themes include, fancy dinner with champagne, a nice card, jewelry, giant teddy bear, chocolate, roses, etc. The list goes on. All of these items mean spending money by showing someone that you care for them. A common argument against Valentine's Day is that you should show your special someone that you care about them every day, not just feel obligated to show your love on a certain day.3. A Tad Outdated
Few people really participate in Valentine's Day. In fact, people who are in love or in a relationship often feel expected to participate in the traditions, even though they know that their feelings for each other are mutual. Fewer and fewer people even wear pink or red on the day and for people who are single, it's mostly miserable. The traditions are the only thing really keeping the holiday alive, and even those seem to be slipping away.
