It's that time of year again when the lovebirds and cynical singlets clash about the meaning of Valentine's Day. If they aren't fighting about the meaning you can bet they are feuding over how to celebrate. However, whether you are single and ready to mingle or someone in a fun or serious relationship, it seems like Hampton Roads has something for everyone this year. Below are some options that you can explore as a way to celebrate love and life:

1. Smartmouth Brewing Company 2nd Annual Oyster Roast

Location:Smartmouth Beer 1309 Raleigh Ave, Norfolk, Virginia 23507

When: Saturday, February 13, 2016, 12 P.M. - 7 P.M.

Description: All-you-can-eat oysters for $20, food trucks, and tasty beer from a local favorite; seems like the perfect time to indulge this Valentine's Day.


2. Great Chocolate Race 10k/5K

Location: Downtown Hampton

When: Saturday, February 13, 2016 beginning at 7 A.M.

Description: For all those early-rising health nuts, this is the thing for you. You get to choose between a 10 Miler or a 5k through the beautiful and historic downtown Hampton. Once you finish, you'll be rewarded with a medal, a long sleeve T-shirt, and a chocolate after-party!


3. Cure Coffeehouse and Brasserie Galentine's Day Brunch!

Location:Cure Coffeehouse and Brasserie 503 Botetourt St, Norfolk, Virginia 23510

When: Saturday, February 13, 2016, from 8 A.M. to 2 P.M.

Description: Channel your inner Leslie Knope and take a moment for yourself and your ladies. This is the perfect way to show all your friends how much you love and appreciate their friendship. 4. The O'Connor Food Truck Challenge

Description: Stop by a Norfolk favorite spot and check out this awesome event. There's no cover charge, so you can come and chill at your leisure. Local food truck favorites will make an appearance to join O'Connor's Brewing Company challenge to find the best food truck.


5. Valentine's Day Carriage Rides

Location: Peninsula Town Center 4410 Claiborne Sq E, Ste 212, Hampton, Virginia 23666

When: Friday and Saturday, February 12 and 13, 2016, from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M.

Description: Enjoy a free carriage ride with your significant other around Peninsula Town Center. Each couple will be given a complementary rose upon arrival to set the mood!


6. Mermaid Winery Presents Valentine's Day Dinner

7. Cupid's Undie Run - Virginia Beach
