Every single day I hear multiple people say that they are in desperate need for a vacation. To be some place where they can relax and not have a worry in the world. Yet nine out of 10 of them don't take that vacation. Instead, they stay fixated on their work or school, continuously stressing themselves out. I get it—things need to be done, but if you need a vacation, take it. We all deserve a break.
Recently I have been on two vacations. The first one was a solo vacation to Colorado Springs, and it was probably one of the best decisions I have ever made. The second was a family vacation to San Diego. Both I have felt like I needed for years, when in reality, it has only been a few months. However, the emotional drain of constantly being overworked is too much. Someone would start to feel like they've never had a vacation, yet be in need for one.
I know, I know—vacations are expensive. But I say treat yourself like the king or queen that you are. You know you deserve it. What if you have absolutely no money? Talk your parents into a vacation, or if you don't want to do that, simply take a few sick days. This time will help you replenish your energy and feel alive again. Your vacation could be as simple as spending a few quiet nights alone at your house or as extravagant as going to the Bahamas.
The point of a vacation is to get away. Do things that make you look forward to the days to come, instead of dread them. To relax, to have some peace and quiet, to rediscover yourself and rid yourself of any negativity or stress you might be feeling. If that means taking a solo vacation without any of your loved ones, do it. Your mind, body and spirit will thank you for the adventurous relaxation you will endure.
