Mona Poblete

My name is Mona and I'm a senior at Loyola University Maryland. I will be graduating with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Photography (or if you are reading this after May 2016, then hopefully I was able to pass physics and obtain my degree). You are probably wondering, "How the heck did you end up on The Odyssey?" since my writing experience is at a bare minimum and I only took one Effective Writing class freshman year. Truth be told, it had been a HS-long dream of mine to be a journalist and I almost went to school for Journalism. At 15, I started to blog on the Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) fansite (now NWSL) talking about my favorite soccer players and what I want to do with my future. Long story short and two Asian parents later, I am now a biology major still with a knack for writing and a love for women's soccer. On the side, I also work with graphic design and do studio portraiture (so basically everything that doesn't require a lab coat and some over sized goggles). I don't know what the future holds at this point, but if it doesn't involve science or writing, it will definitely involve some churros and hot chocolate.
