Ever since I was young, the most effective way for me to communicate was through writing. I have vivid memories of writing detailed thank you notes to relatives for barbies I'd never play with, and a persuasive essay to 'Santa' about how badly I wanted a puppy for Christmas when I was 7. I was painfully shy growing up, and while no one who knows me know would believe that, it's still more natural for me to explain how I feel through words I can see than words others can hear. I'm that friend who sends too-long text messages and the student who makes sure there are no holes in an email to a professor. Some may say I'm long-winded, but to me, words are effective and have power when you put intention behind them. I would love to put some of my purpose out there for my peers as a contributing writer for the Odyssey at Rider.
