Writing has always been a part of me since I was young. It is a passion that I wish to continue for the rest of my life. I have always been fascinated by words and the power they entailed. I sincerely believe that writing has the power to impact others. As a international student, I realized that the view of the world depends highly on how words are utilized and portrayed in the media. The choice of words highly influences the portrayal of my country in foreign countries. Unfortunately, many mainstream media organizations tend to skew the public's views of a certain situation or place with their bias. However, I believe that The Odyssey could be the medium that spurs intellectual discussions on various social issues while maintaining objectivity. I would love to work with The Odyssey because it coincides with many of my personal goals and I believe that working in a team will help me grow as a writer and individual.
