The Social Security Administration released the top baby names for 2018 and for girls, Emma, Olivia and Ava sat in the top three spots. For the top three most popular baby boy names, Liam, Noah and William grabbed the top three spots respectively.

Emma means “whole” or “universal.” It was introduced to England by Emma of Normandy, who was the wife both of King Ethelred II and later of King Canute. Liam means “strong willed warrior” and “protector.” It’s the shortened version of “William.”
New on the top 10 list in 2018 is the girls’ name Harper, which pushed Abigail to the 11th spot. And Lucas (number 8 in popularity) pushed out the name Jacob. This is the first year that Lucas has appeared in the top 10 list.
