Ashlyn Burns

I'm Ashlyn! I grew up in Indianapolis, IN. In high school, I was heavily involved in athletics including cross-country and track. I was also the only girl on my school's wrestling team. Now that I am in college I do not compete in those sports anymore. However, I do compete in horse shows as a member of the Purdue Western Equestrian Team. I have had a lot of different experiences in my life and I believe these experiences have influenced my writing by allowing me to develop a unique perspective on many subjects. I love to write because I like to entertain people and tell stories, and writing is one of the best ways for me to express myself. I wrote my first novel when I was fourteen years old and since then I have written several books and published two of them. I am also working on completing minors in both English and Creative Writing. I want to continue developing my writing skills and building on my experiences in order to make me a more well-rounded author. Writing for The Odyssey would be an amazing opportunity and allow me to work towards this goal.
