Congratulations! You were accepted into one of the most competitive universities in the United States and are about to start the best four years of your life. Whether you are from the south, east coast, another country or Los Angeles, the University of Southern California is about to become your new home.

You’ve gone on a tour of the campus, attended your freshman orientation and hopefully snagged a room in New North. You’ve heard about the Trojan family, the endless networking opportunities and all of the exciting endeavors USC students partake in. You’ve looked at pictures of Game Days and extracurricular activities and have read about how much fun USC truly is.

While you already have all this basic information and only two months until the beginning of the school year, I am sure that many of you are wondering what some of the basic essentials are to pack for your freshman year. Because I didn’t have this pertinent knowledge, I took endless trips to American Apparel and the bookstore and am seeing it as my duty to help prepare the class of 2020.

With this being said, below is your Freshman Year Starter Pack: listing everything from specific kinds of booze to neon apparel. Pack what you can and see you in the fall. Fight on!

1. White Converse

TBH maybe 2 pairs.

2. Game Day Skirt

3. White Apparel and Fur Accessories

One word: Frost.

4. Trojan Dining Plan

EVK is for peasants https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mC402_dryJQ

5. A Bottle of Andre

2 for $9 at CVS and I couldn't be happier about it.

6. A Schoolgirl Skirt

You didn't really go to school if you didn't go to Lambda Academy.

7. Neon leggings/sports bra/spandex/crop top

8. Disco pants/scrunchie/afro/big glasses for every 80's themed party

9. Lots of Crop Tops

10. Basically everything you can think of at American Apparel

11. Fraternity T-shirt(s)

Bonus points if you snag a pair of the Lambda Yves Saint Laurent leggings.

12. Tapingo

Is it ta-pin-go or tap-in-go? I still don't know.

13. If you life in New North: a personal f*%$ing air conditioner

Except there is no molly and you are just sweating in your dorm more than you ever knew was possible...or maybe there is also molly, idk.

14. A Sports Jersey

15. Cowboy Boots/Flannel/Country-themed outfit

I swear I've worn more country clothes than someone that actually goes to school in the south.

With this list I hope you feel more informed and prepared as you pack your entire childhood costume bin!

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
