For everyone that grew up in a beach town, the sand and the crashing waves are two of the most important life necessities. When you grow up 5 minutes from the ocean, anywhere far from the coast just doesn't feel right. The beach is a lifestyle; the beach is a home.
Thousands of people come to the place that you call home just for vacation every summer, and while that's pretty exciting, they'll never understand what it was actually like to grow up there. When you grow up by the beach, beaches become your happy place.
No matter where you are in the world, a sunny, sandy beach will always feel like home. Beach lovers come from all over the world, but they're some of the greatest people you'll ever meet and here's why.
We love adventure.
Beach people love the outdoors, and they love exploring the world and all it has to offer. We would rather be outdoors taking in the fresh air and watching the waves crash rather than staying inside watching Netflix. We're always up for an adventure. To us, the world is exciting. We can find excitement in just about anything, especially a good beach day.
Relaxation is very easy for us, though.
While adventure is surely one of our greatest interests, we have no trouble kicking back and relaxing. A lot of people struggle when it comes to relaxing. Not everyone has something that can make them feel instantly okay again after a rough day, but beach people sure do. Whether it's fall, winter, spring, or summer, beach people know that the beach is the only place that will fix everything. The ocean doesn't care if there's snow on the ground, or if the sand is burning hot because it's 90 degrees. The second the salty air hits our lungs, we realize that whatever happened that day isn't so important in the grand scheme of life.
We can deal with things like sand in our shoes/cars/bathing suit/everywhere else.
No matter how experienced you are at the whole 'beach-day' thing, sand is certainly an unavoidable nuisance that will find it's way into everything you own. In the middle of January, you will pull out your favorite boots only to find that there is a layer of sand covering the insides. How did it get there? You don't know, and you don't care.
This little experience has lead you to one simple conclusion; you miss the beach. So, a middle-of-the-winter beach adventure quickly follows. As beach lovers, we are not against a trip to the beach in the dead of winter.
We're happier.
There's nothing like a little vitamin sea to lift a person's spirits. The warm sun and the salty air are two things that can fix any bad mood. People that love the beach are just all around happy people, because we don't need much to make us happy. We're perfectly content laying on our beach towel with a book or a magazine and just enjoying the day. Being outside, in general, creates happier people, but the beach, in particular, has an undeniably positive effect on a person's well-being.
