Mark Your Calendars, Here's The Upcoming Hero Movies!
freshstart

In the past couple of years, Marvel and DC movies have been taking over the box offices. Every time you look around there's another movie coming out, and I'm not complaining in the slightest. Personally, I love superhero movies and Marvel Studios have taken superhero movies to the next level.

I'm in a nonprofit called The Royals Project (lowkey shameless plug...oops) and we all dress up as superheroes/princesses/princes and go to hospitals and community events. Well I'm Black Widow in my group so I feel this personal connection to all of the recent movies coming out. While I'm aware that sounds pretty silly, part of my job of being Black Widow is knowing about the Marvel universe I live in. So that means movie marathons for me.

With that being said, here's my list of superhero movies I can't wait to come out in the next couple of years!

Suicide Squad (2016)

This movie is so different from a lot of the superhero movies coming out because it's about the villains. It's the first movie with the Joker in it since The Dark Knight (rest in peace Heath Ledger, man you were incredible), and it's the first movie with a Harley Quinn. Who better to play her than Margot Robbie? And the added bonus of having Will Smith in it pretty much guarantees this movie to be dope.

Doctor Strange (2016)

First let me just say, I LOVE BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH. So no matter what this movie is about, I'm going to see it. But the fact that it's the Doctor Strange, I can't imagine any other actor playing him. Basically, it's going to slay my entire existence.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)

I will argue that the Guardians are some of the funniest superheros, and the fact that they get another movie to have ridiculous shenanigans all the while being completely badass just makes me happy. Marvel Studios is gearing up for the next Avengers movie, which the Guardians will be in. So needless to say, I'm pretty hyped.

Wonder Woman (2017)

Now it's about time we were given a female superhero movie, and who better to start it than Wonder Woman herself. The actress, Gal Gadot, completley slayed my life in Batman VS Superman so a full movie with her? Yes please.

Spiderman: Homecoming (2017)

Okay, so I LOVED the Andrew Garfield Spiderman movies. Like a lot. So when I heard they were retiring him after only 2 movies, it's fair to say i was not pleased. But after seeing the new actor in Captain America: Civil War, I have to say that the new Spiderman, Tom Holland, is pretty fantastic. He's sassy and funny and fits in with the rest of the Avengers really well. I'm excited to see what they do with the third incarnation of Spiderman.

Black Panther (2018)

Oh man, I'm STOKED for this movie. Like beyond stoked. I was surprised to hear that he was getting a movie so quickly after Civil War, but seeing how incredible he was in that movie I'm glad I don't have to wait that long. I'm interested to see what the story line will be for his movie, but I know I'll love it regardless.

Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

I'll be the first to say that I love Thor but his second movie was kind of a bore for me. I liked it, but it was kind of slow. But considering Marvel is gearing up for Infinity Wars, I can't imagine this being anything but crazy. I only hope Loki comes back.

Justice League (2017)

Now it's about time DC started releasing more movies considering Marvel is kind of taking over the movie game, and it's about time we got a Justice League movie. Another movie with Wonder Woman is fine in my books, plus that Aquaman looks like perfection.

The Flash (2018)

On the topic of DC characters, here we have the Flash played by none other than Ezra Miller. Ezra is an amazing actor and I'm so excited to see him in another movie. I'd watch him read the dictionary honestly, but having him as a superhero is 10x better.

Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

MAN OH MAN. If there's one movie that I'm the most excited for, it's no doubt this one. The most obvious reason being that this movie has Black Widow in it and that's all I ever need. Besides that, it's the Avengers plus the Guardians of the Galaxy plus anyone else Marvel decided to throw in there. In the comics basically everyone in the Marvel Universe comes to fight, so I'm hoping they bring in Jessica Jones and Daredevil from the Netflix shows. Infinity Wars is going to be two movies, and that's just more the merrier in my book.

Now I know there will be more movies announced and I most likely missed a good amount of movies. But I think we can all agree that what this list is missing is a Black Widow movie. Come on Marvel, we're all waiting.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
