You Are Not Unwanted, You Are Loved

“You are loved more than you will ever know by someone who died to know you.” Romans 5:8

You are not unwanted; you are chosen. You are not unloved; you were to die for. You are not alone; you are His.

Can you imagine what someone could accomplish if they just knew that they were loved? If they just knew that they are loved with an unfailing love that would never leave no matter the circumstances?Within our society people are suffering from depression, anxiety and even abandonment issues just from thinking that they are alone, unloved and unwanted, but that is so far from true. “You are loved more than you will ever know by someone who died to know you.” Romans 5:8. That’s right. God sent His very own son, Jesus Christ to suffer and die on the cross just to know and love you. He took all of our sins upon Himself and became the ultimate sacrifice so that our sins could be forgiven. I mean, wow. That is a crazy amount of love.

“There is no fear in love, perfect love drives out fear.” 1 John 4:18.

God’s love is perfect because He is perfect. He loves us in a way that no other human ever could. The best part about His love is that He doesn’t just love some future version of you. He loves you now. “I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.” Isaiah 42:22. God knows our hearts and He will forgive us if we just repent of our sins. We fail God daily, but He doesn’t give up on us and that is because He is the ultimate source of love.

“I have made you. I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.” Isaiah 46:4.

God wants to rescue you from whatever you’re going through. He wants to restore everything that has been stolen from your life. He wants to heal your every hurt and every pain because He cares for you. “I loved you at your darkest.” Romans 5:8. God has never given up on us even when we’ve given up on Him. He never leaves us, He never forsakes us. God is love. You were made by God for God and until you understand that, life will never make sense. God has a specific purpose for you in this life that no one else can accomplish -- you are not here by chance. God wanted you to have the job you do, have the friends that you have, even go to the school that you attend because you have the chance to make a difference for Him. So remember the following verse when you’re feeling helpless, distressed, or unwanted because God is never too busy to help us with the troubles we face.

“Then you will call and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help and He will say: here am I.” Isaiah 58:9.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
