Past times, everyone's chance to kick back and relax. Do what they love whenever they want. Especially on the weekends after their busy week at work. One of my geeky yet totally enjoyable past times that a lot of other people thoroughly enjoy is playing games. My baby, aka my PS4, is something that I enjoy playing after a long day at work. My favorite game you ask? Well, let's just say my favorite game from the horror genre is Until Dawn.
This game is packed with jump scares, a great story line, famous characters, and decisions that you can make that effect the way the game plays out.
Characters you might recognize are:
Hayden Panettiere as Sam
Peter Stormare as Dr. Hill
Rami Malek as Josh
Meaghan Martin as Jessica (for all those Camp Rock fans)
And Jordan Fisher as Matthew (for those who have seen Teen Beach Movie... guilty as charged)
There are other characters of course, but these are the most recognizable by far.
Not only does this game have a stacked cast, but it has an incredible plot.
It follows the story of 9 friends who gather on the Washington's (Josh, Beth and Hannah's parents') mountain resort. When a prank played on Hannah goes horribly wrong and an incredibly embarrassed Hannah runs out of the house and into the snow. Naturally her sister follows when suddenly they are chased after something... or someone and fall off a cliff to their deaths. A year later Josh invites the other 6 back to the house to honor their death and have some fun in their name. Where things again go horribly wrong. I mean what can go right on a mountain resort in the middle of the night during a snow storm? Talk about murder central, every serial killer's dream.
As mentioned before, the jump scares in this game are carefully laid out and beautifully executed. I played with my sisters the other day and needless to say we all screamed. Loudly. This game has everything; gore, blood, paranormal, murder, and most importantly loud noises.
When this popped up lets just say we all needed to change our pants, and you will too.
And not to mention creepy dolls...
Finally, and my most favorite part of the game is the ability to make decisions that will determine whether each character lives or dies. And yes there is a way to make all 7 of the characters live. Which I have yet to figure out. The tiniest decisions like whether to hide or run will effect the way the game ends. Whether you choose to fire your gun at an animal or not can in fact kill you in the end. And whether or not you find a lot of clues, or even the right ones, will decide your life.
This game can easily be made a movie but I am happy that it is a PS4 exclusive because I would much rather play than watch. So, if you have a PS4 and you have not played this game, I recommend you do so ASAP.
